Kate has a background in creative industries and has previously worked as a small business consultant focusing on micro enterprises, non-profits and individual artists in the creative sectors. She supports the development of new opportunities for writers and publishers in the digital age through if:book Australia, QWC’s international centre of excellence for digital literature.
Sarah Gory
Program and Services Manager
Sarah is a cultural producer, writer, and reader. Previous to working with QWC, she was Manager of the National Young Writers’ Festival (2009-2010), worked at Oxfam Australia, and completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History at the University of Melbourne. Sarah is also the Manger of Queensland Poetry Festival.

Aimée is a creative industries worker, musician, and writer of speculative fiction. She is a recent graduate of a postgraduate course in Writing, Editing, and Publishing at The University of Queensland, and is currently working on her first novel.
Sophie Overett

Sophie is a recent graduate from Griffith University’s Bachelor of Arts. With a major in Creative Writing and Literature and a dual minor in World History and Social Enterprise, she comes with a passion for all things written as well as a strong understanding of the not-for-profit sector. She possesses a background in retail and customer service.
Meg Vann
The Australian Writer's Marketplace Manager
Meg comes to QWC from a community development background in the legal sector. She writes crime fiction (you can read her story 'Provocation' in The Review of Australian Fiction) and convenes Sisters in Crime Brisbane. Meg graduated from Writing, Editing and Publishing at The University of Queensland in 2008. Her role at QWC has evolved from coordinating the AWMonline website to managing a range of titles and projects for The Australian Writer's Marketplace unit.
Simon Groth
if:book Australia Manager
Simon Groth is a writer and editor based in Brisbane. His short fiction has been published in Overland, Island, and Meanjin as well as other literary journals in Australia and the United States. In 2010, Simon was the co-editor with Sean Sennett of Off The Record: 25 Years of Music Street Press, published by UQP. Since 2001, Simon has experimented with digital publishing platforms, and his web site offers fiction in both print and digital forms and chats with an automated character.
Terry Sheather

Terry has worked in finance for a range of Australian arts organisations. With an eye for detail and extensive experience in the industry, he works with the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the organisation. He currently also works for Circa, JLX and Elision.
Jason Nahrung
WQ Editor
Jason has 20 years’ experience as a newspaper journalist. He has been a director and judge for the Aurealis Awards. His writing has won the William Atheling Jnr award for Criticism or Review, been highly commended in the Aurealis Awards and been shortlisted in the Ditmars and the Australian Shadows. His debut novel was The Darkness Within. He works as a freelance journalist and editor and lives in Melbourne
Chloe Townson
Workshop Coordinator
Chloe holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Writing and English Literature, and also a Diploma in Writing, Editing, and Publishing from The University of Queensland. She is currently studying Honours in English Literature. Although Chloe would love to be an author one of these days, she could quite happily spend the rest of her life living in a book shop.

Regional Liaison Officer — Rockhampton
Judy’s love of stories and story telling has been in performance poetry and writing for, and performing in, community theatre. This has recently progressed to writing for short films. As Cultural Development Associate for the Rockhampton Regional Council, recent projects have included community workshops in Writing for Film and Scriptwriting for 10 Minute Plays and a songwriting workshop undertaken on North Keppel Island.
Paul Oliveri
Regional Liaison Officer — Cairns
From books to blogs, Paul will write just about anything. Since 2006, Paul has been the Northern Correspondent for the tri-state Blue’s magazine, written for National agricultural organisations such as Growcom, the Australian Banana Growers Council and other regional and national rural publications. His background as an Intensive Care Paramedic has seen him turn his hand to medical writing and press work for Paramedics Australasia the leading representative association for Paramedics in Australasia. Proud of his Italian heritage Paul was a contributing author for history articles and books on Italian pioneers in the sugar industry. Paul has been a Regional Liaison Officer with QWC since 2006.
