Confessions of a Literary Scout

You’ve heard of agents, but have you heard of literary scouts? Most Australian writers are unaware of this mysterious profession. Elena Lappin is a novelist, journalist, and literary scout based in the UK. As a scout, Elena uses her fluency in several languages to find the best contemporary fiction and narrative non-fiction for publishing clients in numerous territories. She is also the author of a collection of short stories, Foreign Brides (Picador 1999), and a novel, The Nose (Picador 2001).
