QWC is raising money for the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal with a fantastic new competition – Writers on Rafts. Enter Writers on Rafts to win fabulous prizes donated by more than 150 Australian authors, including Kate Morton, Morris Gleitzman, Di Morrissey, Nick Earls, Tara Moss, Mem Fox, John Birmingham, Jessica Rudd, PM Newton and many more. You could win an author visit to your school or book club, or a manuscript assessment from a top literary agent or publisher. You could be immortalised in print with a character named after you, or read your way through a stack of signed books.

Due to flooding in South East Queensland, QWC will, sadly, be closed to the public until further notice.
We are unable to access our telephone service but are online for business as usual so please direct any queries to us by emailing [email protected].
Known to our members as QWC, we encourage networking, connection, and creativity through the art and business of writing. We provide knowledge, networks, skills and professional development opportunities to QWC members and Queensland writers, and work to service diverse audiences, including regional and indigenous writers. We are also the people behind the Institute for the Future Book, or if:book Australia.
QWC is now open for business on level 2 of the State Library of Queensland, Cultural Centre, South Brisbane.
